Haryana To Consider Opening Of Its Borders After Discussion With Kejriwal Govt

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the decision to open the borders will be considered after discussion with the Kejriwal government.

New Delhi: The Haryana government has said that the decision to open Delhi-Haryana borders will be taken up after discussion with the Kejriwal government. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said on Monday that borders of Delhi will be sealed for one week and only those with valid e passes or engaged in essential services will be allowed to cross.  Also Read |Unlock 1: Delhi Borders To Be Sealed For Next One Week, Says Kejriwal; Essential Services Exempted Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said  “MHA guidelines were followed while taking decisions but the Delhi government decided not to allow any movement. Now any decision in this regard would be taken after discussing it with the Delhi government as borders would be opened after mutual consent of both governments," ANI quoted him as saying. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said on Monday that borders of Delhi will be sealed for one week and only those with valid e passes or engaged in essential services will be allowed to cross. The measure was being taken as there was a surge in the number of COVID cases in the state. In a report by PTI Kejriwal said "For now, we are sealing Delhi's borders for one week. People engaged in essential services and having passes will be allowed." He also added that "Delhiites can send suggestions on the opening of borders to WhatsApp number 8800007722, delhicm.suggestions@gmail.com by Friday 5 pm. We will make a decision again in one week to open borders after suggestions from citizens." Several activities have started operations and the Ministry of Home Affairs has also removed restrictions on the interstate and intrastate travel. But according to the new guidelines states can decide on revoking certain relaxations depending on the prevailing situations. Except for the borders, Delhi has abided by MHA guidelines has opened all shops, autos, e-rickshaws, and other vehicles, barbershops and salons. The curfew timings is also in accordance with new guidelines by MHA and are from 9 PM to 5 AM.
