Haryana Lockdown: Covid Restrictions Extended For 15 Days, Earlier Guidelines To Continue

Haryana Lockdown: State universities have been advised to plan to reopen universities from the next academic session.

Haryana Lockdown News: The Haryana government on Sunday decided to extend the period of covid lockdown by 15 days and allowed the relaxation given earlier to continue. Restaurants, bars, malls, clubhouses, and shops are allowed to open in the state.

In an order issued on Sunday, Chief Secretary Vijay Vardhan said, "Pandemic Alert Safe Haryana' is extended for the next fortnight, from 5 pm on August 23 to 5 am on 6th September. At the same time, the guidelines given in the earlier orders will be implemented.''

Orders were issued under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The activities that were allowed earlier include admission or recruitment examinations conducted by various universities, institutions, or government departments. The order said that all instructions regarding social distance, cleanliness, and seating capacity have to be followed.

Vice-Chancellors of state universities have been advised to reopen universities from the next academic session and share the plan with the concerned department of the state government.

The state government has named the lockdown as 'Pandemic Alert Safe Haryana'. The lockdown was first imposed on May 3, which was later extended on a weekly basis. However, from August 9 it was extended by a fortnight.

How many corona cases were detected on Saturday?

In Haryana, the total number of infected people had risen to 7,70,331 after 19 new covid-19 cases were reported on Saturday, while the death toll of one patient reached 9,666. 

According to the bulletin, a covid-19 patient died in the Karnal district, six new cases were reported from Gurugram and three from Panchkula. The state health ministry also revealed that the number of patients undergoing treatment for covid-19 in Haryana has gone up to 675.

A total of 759,990 people in Haryana have recovered from his deadly virus infection so far. The rate of recovery has gone up to 98.66 in comparison to the infection rate.
