Gurugram assault: Two more arrested, tally reaches 3

Gurugram: Facing criticism over the action taken in Gurugram assault case, police in this Haryana city arrested two more youths to take the tally to three on Monday. Dhirender alias Dhire and Amit were arrested around 2 a.m., the police said. They were part of 35 to 40 goons who attacked four youths of the minority community on the day of Holi in Bhup Singh Nagar. The incident captured on phone went viral on social media drawing flak for the police. In a bone-chilling incident, members of a family in Dhamaspur village in Gurugram were beaten with sticks, swords and rods, allegedly by 20-25 men, who barged into their house and attacked the family members on Holi evening. The incident took place when an argument broke out between 2 groups while playing cricket on Holi, and members of one group attacked women, kids and adults. Petrified of the attackers, a female family member kept screaming and asking for mercy, but the goons didn’t hear her plea and kept thrashing. The incident was caught on camera.
