Groom-to-be loses passport days before wedding, Sushma Swaraj comes to rescue

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is popular for her quick response on Twitter and is the last resort of Indians troubled with passport/visa issues. An Indian groom who found himself stuck after losing his passport days before his wedding, reached out to Sushma Swaraj for help and earned an assurance. Last evening Devatha Ravi Teja, the groom-to-be tweeted, stating that he lost his passport days before his wedding and requested the minister to expedite his tatkal request. He wrote: “I have my wedding on August 13-15. Travelling on August 10. Please help me expedite my tatkal request and help me in attending my wedding in time. You are my only hope. Please do the needful.” The EAM assured help to the groom. She wrote: “You have lost your Passport at a very wrong time. However, we will help you reach for your wedding in time”. She directed the Indian Embassy in US to help Teja out. Her reply has got more than 3k likes and has been retweeted around 500 times. Swaraj is known for her prompt and quick-witted replies on the micro-blogging website. Recently her replies silencing the trolls had received great attention.
