Greater Noida building collapse LIVE: At least a dozen people are feared trapped under the debris of a six-storey under-construction building that collapsed in Greater Noida's Shah Beri village on Tuesday night, police said.

New Delhi: Two under-construction buildings collapsed in Greater Noida's Shah Beri village on Tuesday night. As per the report, three dead bodies have been recovered till now, while two people have been rescued alive. Several people are still feared trapped under the debris. Four National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed for the rescue operations. It has been learned that around 30 to 35 people are buried under the debris of the collapsed illegal buildings in Greater Noida. The NDRF team said that there is less hope of survival of people trapped under debris. According to the local people, there were about 10-12 families living in the buildings which was completely constructed, while the other building was under construction, in which the workers were working. Till last night, the NDRF retrieved two male dead bodies from the debris. The area falls under Bisrakh police station limits in Greater Noida.

When questioned in the police custody, he laughed, saying that he is not at fault. • The builder who was arrested with his two associates in connection with the building collapse in Greater Noida 's Shah Beri village has denied the allegation and said it was not his fault. In a shocking gesture, the arrested builder SMILED and said, 'Hamari Galti Nahi Hai'. Watch Video- Watch Video: Residents claim ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION was underway openly in Shah Beri area- • Drills are being used to remove metal rods to reach those trapped under the debris and a dog squad has also been pressed into service, reported PTI. • Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Arun Kumar Singh was quoted as saying that those involved in the rescue operations were facing difficulties because of the narrow lanes in the area and a huge crowd that had gathered there. • Two teams of the NDRF were assisting the police personnel and fire-fighters in the ongoing rescue operations, the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Arun Kumar Singh said. • The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams informed that the rescue operation is underway. • A local named S Dubey was quoted by ANI as saying that they had approached the local administration to raise the issue but nothing concrete was done. "Had approached local administation but no action was taken.We met MLA Tejpal Nagar who wrote to them to take action but nothing was done. Had also met DM&SSP but to no avail. All construction here is illegal, neither builder nor govt or authority looks after it," Dubey said. • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate and the police to monitor relief and rescue activities along with the NDRF team, reported PTI. • As per the report by ANI, three people, who were arrested in connection with the building collapse in GreaterNoida 's Shah Beri village, have been identified as a builder and his two associates. • Initial information suggests that the buildings were illegally constructed right under the nose of district administration and Greater Noida authority. • Local MP Mahesh Sharma tweeted that he has ordered a probe into the incident. Sharma informed that all machineries are in place to rescue people who are trapped inside the debris of the building • The team of NDRF and ITBP are engaged in the rescue work. Despite the ban, a large number of illegal constructions were being done in the area • Greater Noida's Shah Beri village was acquired by GNOIDA. The Supreme Court had, however, cancelled the acquisition of this village. After which many builders had to cancel the project and many were forced to shift their project from here • It has been learned that the tragedy is the result of the illegal construction in the area • Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident, as per the report. More details awaited • Both the buildings were in the vicinity, when around 9 pm last night, there was a loud noise and the fully constructed building fell on the building which was under construction. • Soon after the buildings collapsed, the builder's hoarding was removed overnight from the site. • District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar said that according to the local people the building that collapsed was constructed 2 years ago and many flats in it were not occupied. He further assured that investigation will be carried out in this matter • According to the local people, there were about 10-12 families living in the buildings which was completely constructed, while the other building was under construction, in which the workers were working. • In an exclusive talk with ABP News, Greater Noida's SSP Ajay Pal Sharma has told that some people related to the construction of the building have been taken into custody • Soon after the incident, CM Yogi Adityanath tweeted the news of buildings collapse and informed that he has ordered every possible help and treatment on time for the injured people • Around 30 to 35 people are buried under the debris of the collapsed illegal buildings in Greater Noida. Four NDRF teams and dog squad are present on the spot, chances of any victim being alive are scant. Operations will continue until all victims are rescued" • Soon after the mishap, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and asked the District Magistrate to follow up with the National Disaster Response Force team and Police for relief measures and to ensure immediate rescue • DGP O P Singh has informed the chief minister about the rescue operation being carried out by police and NDRF personnel • Fire and police officials have reached the spot and rescue operations are underway • Union Minister Mahesh Sharma, who reached the spot, said that 12 ambulances have been rushed to facilitate the operation • Mahesh Sharma further added, "Our priority right now is to save any life that is left. 12 ambulances are present here and all the hospitals nearby have been alerted. NDRF teams and dog squads are also present on the spot"
