Govt Issues Notice To Chirag Paswan To Vacate Official Bungalow Allotted To Father Ram Vilas Paswan

LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan had stayed in the bungalow for nearly three decades till his death in October last year.

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has issued a notice to Lok Sabha member Chirag Paswan and others living in 12 Janpath bungalows and asked to vacate the accommodation allotted to former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan. Officials informed this on Tuesday.

There has been no response from Chirag Paswan on this notice.

The bungalow is the official address of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). A regularly organisational meetings and other associated events have been holding there.  A ministry official said the bungalow is for Union ministers and people living here have been asked to vacate it.

LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan had stayed in this bungalow for nearly three decades till his death in October last year. At present, His wife, son Chirag Paswan and others in the family are staying here.

Last month, the Directorate of Estates under the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs issued a notice. ''A notice to vacate the residence has been sent to people living in this bungalow,'' the official said.

Ram Vilas Paswan was among the prominent Dalit leaders of the country. He died in October last year at the age of 74. He had been a minister at the Centre in governments of various ideology parties since 1989.

It is noteworthy that Chirag is having a tug-of-war with his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras over the LJP leadership. Paras, MP from Hajipur in Bihar, has been made a minister in the Narendra Modi-led government last month.
