Govt Declares Nine Wanted Men As Designated Terrorists Under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act

The individuals designated as terrorists today are involved in various acts of terrorism from across the border and from foreign soil, says government.

The Union Home Ministry under the leadership of the Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday declared nine individuals as designated terrorists under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967, as amended in 2019 and included their names in the Fourth Schedule of the Act. As per the statement released by the ministry, individuals are involved in various acts of terrorism from across the border and from foreign soil. They have been relentless in their nefarious efforts of destabilizing the country, by trying to revive militancy in Punjab through their anti national activities and through their support to and involvement in the Khalistan Movement.

The individuals who were named as terrorists today include Pakistan based Wadhawa Singh Babbar who is the Chief of terrorist organization BabbarKhalsa International. The list also named Paramjit Singh who is the Chief of United Kingdom based terrorist organization,“BabbarKhalsa International.

The ministry named three individuals from Khalistan Zindabad Force based in Pakistan and Germany. The list named Ranjeet Singh from Pakistan; and Bhupinder Singh Bhinda and Gurmeet Singh Bagga from Germany who are the key members of terrorist organization Khalistan ZindabadForce.

Pakistan based Lakhbir Singh who is the Chief of terrorist organization International Sikh Youth Federation was another individual to be designated as terrorist. In addition, Paramjit Singh from Pakistan - Chief of terrorist organization “Khalistan Commando Force” was also in the list by government of India.

The other two men in the list included Gurpatwant Singh Pannun from USA who is a key member of Unlawful Association, “Sikh for Justice”; and Hardeep Singh Nijjar from Canada who is identified to be Chief of “Khalistan Tiger Force”.
