Govt Approves Diwali Bonus For Group C And Non-Gazetted Group B Officials — Details

The bonus, which is capped at Rs 7,000, brings a festive bonus of joy to dedicated government employees just in time for Diwali celebrations.

The central government on Tuesday approved the distribution of Diwali bonuses to Group C and non-gazetted Group B rank officials, including personnel from paramilitary forces, in a welcome announcement. The bonus, which is capped at Rs 7,000, brings a festive bonus of joy to dedicated government employees just in time for Diwali celebrations.

"The undersigned is directed to convey the sanction of the President to the grant of Non-Productivity Linked Bonus (Ad-hoc Bonus) equivalent to 30 days emoluments for the accounting year 2022-23 to the Central Government employees in Group 'C' and all non-gazetted employees in Group 'B', who are not covered by any Productivity Linked Bonus Scheme. The calculation ceiling for payment of ad-hoc Bonuses under these orders shall be monthly emoluments of Rs. 7000/-. The payment of ad-hoc Bonus under these orders will also be admissible to the eligible employees of Central Para Military Forces and Armed Forces. The orders will be deemed to be extended to the employees of Union Territory Administration which follow the Central Government pattern of emoluments and are not covered by any other bonus or ex-gratia scheme," a notification by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance said.

Earlier in the day, the Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to provide uninterrupted power supply to people across the state during the upcoming festivals of Dussehra, Dhanteras, and Diwali, as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated, ANI reported. 

To that end, the department has issued the necessary directives to the relevant officers and Discoms. The Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, Dr Ashish Kumar Goyal, has stated that "uninterrupted electricity supply to Uttar Pradesh will be ensured on the occasion of these major festivals," as reported by the news agency. 

He stated that for the ongoing Navratri festival, strict directives have been issued to improve electricity supply across the state and ensure that all areas receive electricity on time, the report said.

The officials in charge of electricity distribution have been instructed to keep the power on from sunset to sunrise. In accordance with the state government's objectives, managing directors of Discoms, chief engineers, and officials of the Electricity Corporation have been specifically instructed to ensure that electricity is supplied to Shakti Peethas and religious places according to the prescribed schedule during Navratri.

Furthermore, officials are urged to be vigilant in their respective areas and to address any disruptions in electricity supply at the local level as soon as possible in order to minimise inconveniences, he added, the report said.
