Fuel prices continue to mount, Petrol crosses Rs 90 mark in Mumbai
The prices continue to rise in spite of protests by opposition.
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel continue to dig bigger holes in our pockets as fuel prices have increased further. The price rise has been taking place consistently from past few days. The petrol price on Monday rose by 11 paisa per litre.
After the increase in price, the petrol would cost a common man residing in the national capital Rs 82.72/ litre and diesel would cost Rs 74.02 per litre. On Sunday, the petrol and diesel price in the national capital was Rs 82.61 and Rs 73.97 per litre respectively.
Speaking of financial capital Mumbai, petrol prices have crossed Rs 90 mark, taking it to Rs 90.08 per litre whereas; diesel price has reached Rs 78.58 per litre. Yesterday petrol and diesel in Mumbai on September were Rs89.97 and Rs 78.53 per litre.
UP Minister’s baseless statement on price rise:
UP Minister Lakshman Narayan Chowdhary has made a baseless statement on price rise, saying people should keep facing inflation in order to keep up their respect for the country. He claimed that one can increase their financial situation by facing price rise.
State governments are reducing VAT:
The government is continuously being asked to reduce the petrol and diesel prices, but the government has failed to do anything on the same. On the other hand, state governments on their personal level are trying to being relief by reducing VAT. West Bengal government along with several other governments have tried to reduce tax on fuel.
