From Sonia Gandhi, Rahul To Ajay Maken And Randeep Surjewala, Congress Top Brass Intervene To douse Internal Conflicts In Rajasthan

The all Congress MLA meet is scheduled to take place at 9 PM at CM Ashok Gehlot's official residence in Jaipur.

Amid the political crisis in Rajasthan, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party's former chief Rahul Gandhi have decided to take the responsibility to douse off the internal conflicts in the Congress-led Rajasthan government. According to the reports, Sonia Gandhi has dispatched a team of top Congress brass including Delhi Congress leader Ajay Maken, Rajasthan Congress Pradesh Committee (RPCC) chief Avinash Pande and the party's senior spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala to join all MLA meet organised by state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

What appears to be an apparent show to display the 'Hum Sab Saath Hai' notion amid the rift in the Congress-led government, the all MLA meet is scheduled to take place at 9 PM at CM's official residence in Jaipur. All the Congress MLAs along with the independent MLAs supporting the Gehlot government have also been invited for the meetup.

The posturing comes at the time when CM Gehlot has accused the Bharatiya Janata Paty (BJP) of poaching Congress MLAs to topple the Rajasthan government. Gehlot claimed that while his government is busy battling the coronavirus the BJP is playing politics and trying to poach Congress' MLAs.

While on one hand, Gehlot is organizing a meeting to show unity among party members, Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, on the other hand, reached Delhi on Sunday to meet Sonia Gandhi and Rahul to talk about the crisis and scuffle within the two factions of the Congress government in Rajasthan. ALSO READ | UP Cop Accused Of Tipping Off Vikas Dubey Approaches SC Fearing 'Encounter'

According to an IndiaToday report, after rounds of discussion, Rahul Gandhi has asked Pilot to return to Jaipur soon, meet the observers and "work under the leadership of Cm Ashok Gehlot."

However, if the reports are to be believed, Pilot may skip the meeting in Jaipur as he met his former colleague and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia in Delhi on Sunday evening.

Earlier today, former Congress leader Scindia, who joined BJP in March this year, said that he is sad to see a talent like Pilot being "sidelined and persecuted by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot." Taking to his Twitter handle on Sunday, Scindia attacked the Congress-led Rajasthan government and said this incident has shown how talent and capability find little credence in the Congress.
