Five Uttar Pradesh Policemen Attacked While Trying To Stop Dinner Party Hosted By A Zila Panchayat Candidate
The police team rushed to the venue last night on receiving information in this regard and returned after stopping the party but the organiser Sonu Pradhan and his supporters shifted the venue to a nearby place. The organiser and his supporters later misbehaved with the cops when they reached there for the second time and indulged in stone pelting, IANS reports.
Mathura: At least five police personnel, including a station in-charge, were injured and their vehicle was damaged in stone pelting when they tried to stop a dinner party being hosted by a zila panchayat candidate in Mathura’s Mudiliya village for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections and Covid-19 protocol.

The five cops injured include station in-charge Lokesh Bhatti, a Sub-Inspector and three constables.
Mathura Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Grover told the media that action would be taken against the accused.
Mathura will vote in the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections on April 29.
The first and second phase of the polls were held on April 15 and April 19. Polling for the third and fourth phase will be held on April 26 and April 29. The results will be declared on May 2.
