FIR Against Sanjay Raut For Using Abusive Remark Against Woman BJP Member. MP Says It Means ‘Stupid’

The Delhi Police have registered an FIR against the Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut for allegedly making expletive remarks against female BJP members during a TV interview, reported ANI.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have registered an FIR against the Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut for allegedly making expletive remarks against female BJP members during a TV interview. However, Raut has claimed that it is being used for “pressuring” him.

“An FIR registered against me for the use of word ******. that means Stupid as per Hindi dictionaries. In Spite of this, if a case is registered then it's nothing but an attempt to pressurize me! BTW, some BJP leaders have used more objectionable words against women leaders, haven't heard of such FIR against them,” Raut tweeted.

He further added that this FIR is for “childish politics by some imported BJP leaders in Maharashtra.”

The complaint was made by BJP National General Secretary Deepti Rawat Bhardwaj on December 9 who alleged Raut of making “shocking comments” against BJP leaders. Bhardwaj also claimed that Raut made threats against the “life and limb of BJP political workers” and used abusive language.

The complaint has been registered under sections 500 and 509, Delhi police told ANI.

“An FIR has been registered against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut at Delhi's Mandawali PS under Sections 509 & 500 of IPC for his alleged objectionable remarks against female BJP members, on the complaint of a woman BJP worker,” ANI quoted Delhi police.
