Hunger Strike Today:  The heads of all farmer unions protesting against the Centre's new agriculture laws will observe a one-day hunger strike Monday, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni said, as the agitating peasantry and the administration prepared for an escalation in the protest from December 14. The hunger strike between 8 am and 5 pm is part of the farmers' plan to intensify their agitation from Monday. Kejriwal to also hold Hunger strike today:  Kejriwal said he will hold one-day fast on Monday in response to a call given by the agitating farmers and urged his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers as well as the people of the country to join in. Kejriwal asked Govt to scrap farm laws: Kejriwal asked the BJP-ruled Centre to shun "arrogance" and scrap the three farm laws as demanded by the agitating farmers, and also bring a Bill to guarantee minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural produce. BJP to hold farmers' meets in UP to raise awareness on agri laws: To make people aware about the recent farm laws brought by the Centre, the ruling BJP will organise farmers' meets at various places in Uttar Pradesh, the party said in a statement issued here on Sunday. These "kisan sammelan" will begin on Monday and continue till December 18. Protesting farmers send back group of Jamia students from UP Gate: A group of six students of Jamia Millia Islamia, including girls, had arrived at UP Gate to extend support to the farmers by singing and playing 'dafli' (tambourine), but the farmers refused to allow them to join their agitation.
