EAM Dr S Jaishankar To Pay Official Visits To Uganda And Mozambique From April 10 To 15

EAM’s visit to Uganda and Mozambique is expected to further strengthen India’s strong bilateral relations with these two countries.

New Delhi: The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will pay official visits to the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Mozambique from April 10 to 15.

From April 10 to 12, he will be visiting Uganda, where he is he is expected to hold delegation-level talks with his counterpart Foreign Minister of Uganda General Jeje Odongo, call on the leadership of the country and meet other Ministers, according to an official statement from MEA's office.

The statement mentioned that Jaishankar will also inaugurate the transit campus of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Jinja, and a bilateral MoU between the Governments of India and Uganda, on setting up of the first-ever campus of NFSU outside India, is likely to be signed during the visit.

Apart from participating in the ground-breaking ceremony of a solar-powered water supply project in Uganda, he will also address the trade and business community of the country and interact with the Indian diaspora.

The EAM will embark on a historic visit to the Republic of Mozambique from April 13 to 15, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian External Affairs Minister to the country.

During his trip, EAM will call on top leadership and also co-chair the 5th Session of the Joint Commission Meeting with Mozambican Foreign Minister Ms. Veronica Macamo, according to the official statement.

Additionally, he is expected to meet with various other Ministers and representatives of the Assembly of Mozambique, as well as engage with the Indian diaspora residing in the African country.
