Dhirendra Shastri's Brother Booked For Threatening Dalit Family During Mass Wedding Event
An FIR was registered against Saurabh Garg, brother of Baba Bageshwar's Dhirendra Shastri, after a video of him threatening a Dalit family went viral on social media.
New Delhi: An FIR has been registered against Saurabh Garg, brother of Baba Bageshwar's Dhirendra Shastri, after a video of him threatening a Dalit family went viral. He was accused of abusing and assaulting a Dalit family. In the video that went viral on social media, he was allegedly seen behaving indecently with the family.
The family alleged the they were asked to get their daughter married to Dhirendra Shashtri during the mass wedding event but the family refused, which made Garg angry after which he reached the venue and allegedly threatened the family. The incident took place on February 11.
Garg also allegedly threatened to kill a member of the Dalit family. The incident took place during a mass wedding event organised on Mahashivaratri in Bageshwar Dham where 121 poor girls got married. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the event and blessed the couples.
Chouhan, during his visit, said he has immense respect for monks and was happy at the mass marriage ceremony organised for couples from underprivileged backgrounds. State BJP chief V D Sharma also attended the function. The event was organised by religious leader Dhirendra Shastri at Bageshwar Dham.
Shastri has also been conducting a `yagna’ to pray for India’s transformation into a “Hindu Rashtra”. Earlier, state Congress chief Kamal Nath too had visited Bageshwar Dham located at Gada village and met the 26-year-old religious leader.
