Deport Or Prosecute Khalistani Elements: NSA Doval Tells UK Counterpart Barrow
The meeting between the NSAs come in the wake of threats from Khalistani separatists who, apparently, issued posters giving photos and names of Indian diplomats under a ‘Kill India’ banner.
New Delhi: India has asked the British government to immediately deport or prosecute the Khalistani elements in their country even as Indian diplomats have become "individual targets" that has become a huge cause of concern for New Delhi. The matter was discussed at length during a meeting on Friday between National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and his British counterpart Tim Barrow in New Delhi.
“The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation to address violent extremism and radicalism. There can be no justification for violent extremism and radicalisation in a democracy,” an official source told ABP Live.
The source also said, “The Indian side raised the issue of the extremist elements in UK threatening individual officers of the Indian High Commission and urged the UK Government to take strong public action against these elements such as deportation or legal prosecution.”

The meeting between the NSAs comes in the wake of growing threats from Khalistani separatists who, apparently, issued posters giving photos and names of Indian diplomats serving across the UK, Australia and Canada, among others, under a ‘Kill India’ banner.
Barrow is visiting India accompanied by a delegation of senior UK government officials.
The two NSAS have engaged regularly in extensive discussions on a broad bilateral, regional and global agenda, previously also.
The current visit will give them the opportunity to continue their high-level dialogue, which will include a review of the multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries as well as explore futuristic areas for technology collaboration, source said.
Both NSAs also discussed the growing security situation in Russia following the Wagner mutiny and also the ongoing war in Ukraine. India is collating inputs on how to effectively deal with the matter now that it will be hosting the G20 Summit in India in the next two months, sources added.
Delegation level talks were also held between both sides in order to “reaffirm the close strategic partnership” between India and the UK.
Sources added that both sides “agreed to accord maximum priority to further enhance the security linkages.”
Both the sides agreed to work closely on counter terrorism, counter terror financing, use of the internet for terrorism purposes, illicit drug trafficking and counter radicalisation.
During the talks the NSAs decided to deepen collaboration in critical and emerging technologies.
