Deoghar Airport Row: Amid Allegations & Counter-Claims By BJP MPs, Scindia Says 'Truth Will Come Out' With Probe

In response to the question on the issue, Scindia informed reporters: "The truth will come to the fore after a thorough probe. It will be shared with you all."

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Saturday that a thorough investigation into Jharkhand's Deoghar airport issue, in which nine persons have been charged, including BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Manoj Tiwari, will uncover the truth, news agency PTI reported.

The two BJP MPs and seven others were charged for allegedly pressuring Air Traffic Control (ATC) employees to grant clearance for their chartered jet to take off from the Deoghar airport after the scheduled time on August 31.

The two BJP leaders were arrested on their way back to Delhi after visiting with the family members of a woman in Jharkhand's Dumka who was set fire by a guy after she turned down his proposal. Later, the woman died from burns.

In response to the question on the issue, Scindia informed reporters: "The truth will come to the fore after a thorough probe. It will be shared with you all."

Following Dubey's allegation, the Delhi Police issued a 'zero FIR' against the deputy commissioner of Deoghar and certain police personnel on the charge of sedition and under the Officials Secret Act.

Suman Anand, the airport's security officer, filed a complaint against Dubey, his two sons, MP Manoj Tiwari, Deoghar Airport Director Sandeep Dhingra, and others on September 1 at Kunda police station.

According to the allegation, all nine persons breached safety norms by entering the ATC room at the Deogarh airport and forcibly taking approval for the takeoff.

It has been claimed that clearance was obtained "forcibly" from the ATC despite the fact that the airport, which was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 12, does not have a night take-off or landing facility.

The FIR sparked a Twitter feud between Dubey and Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, who both accused the other of breaking the rules by entering the ATC room.

Scindia launched "Cricket Ki Marketing," a book written by sports journalist Surya Prakash Chaturvedi, in Indore. Former cricketer Anil Kumble was also in attendance.

In addition, the Union Minister congratulated the Madhya Pradesh cricket team on their recent Ranji Trophy victory.
