Demonetisation: Govt relaxes rules for farmers & families with weddings

New Delhi: Government on Thursday came out with fresh rules to end plight of the farmers and the one’s with wedding in their houses, who have been suffering a lot due to the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
- In a news briefing, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das said; “Government has permitted farmers to draw up to Rs 25,000 per week against crop loans credited to their account”
- Also, that Rs 25k per week can be withdrawn from account where they receive either by cheque or which is credited by RTGS
- He also said that, “Govt has decided that time limit in crop insurance premium cases will be extended by 15 days”
- For wedding ceremonies, upto Rs 2.5 lakh can be withdrawn from the bank account which are KYC compliant
- One member of the family, be it father or mother can withdraw upto Rs 2.5 lakhs for a wedding
- Exchange of old currency rolled back to Rs 2000 from Rs 4500 starting tomorrow
