Delhi Weather: National Capital Experiences Its Coldest Day, Know About Weather Prediction For This Week

Delhi Winter Season: Delhi's minimum temperature has dropped considerably due to snowfall in the mountains. However, the winds are blowing at a speed of about 18 kmph.

Winter Season In Delhi: The impact of snowfall on the mountains is visible in the plains as well. Delhi's Lodhi Road recorded a minimum temperature of 3.1 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature of the season.

However, the minimum temperature for the coming days is expected to remain at 4 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was assessed at 19.2 degrees Celsius. Visibility on the outskirts of Delhi has also been good and the possibility of fog is less due to which vehicles will not face any problem on the highway.

However, the chilly winds from the western direction are blowing at a speed of about 18 kmph which can certainly create problems for local residents. 

According to meteorologist RK Jenamani, Delhi-NCR may face problems due to the severe cold for the next two days. The Meteorological Department has also advised people not to leave their homes unnecessarily in view of the possibility of a cold wave. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a cold wave in the eastern and western parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

According to an update received from the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 3.1 degrees Celsius at 8.30 am. Lodhi Road recorded a minimum temperature of 3.1 degrees Celsius this morning, while Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius, Aya Nagar 3.6 degrees Celsius, Palam 5.8 degrees Celsius and Delhi Ridge 5.0 degrees Celsius. As per the Meteorological Department, the coming week will bring some relief for Delhiites from the chilly winds for some time.

Here's how the temperature will be in this week:

December 21

The minimum temperature is expected to go up to 4 degrees Celsius while the maximum will remain at 20 degrees Celsius as in the previous day. The sky is expected to remain clear throughout the day though there may be light fog in the morning. 

December 22

The minimum temperature is expected to rise, it is estimated to last up to about 5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature can also be recorded at one degree Celsius as compared to the previous day. The sky may be cloudy throughout the day and there may be fog in the morning. 

December 23

While the minimum temperature had dropped to 3 degrees Celsius, the cold seems to be relieving somewhat by Thursday. The minimum temperature is expected to rise to 7 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to touch 23 degrees Celsius which will give a sigh of relief to Delhiites. It will be cloudy all day just like the previous day. 

December 24

No change in minimum and maximum temperatures are expected as compared to the previous day. The minimum has been estimated at 7 and the maximum at 23. However, the cold wave will continue during this period and it is estimated that it will be cloudy throughout the day. 

December 25

The minimum temperature is expected to reach 8 degrees Celsius, which may record the highest minimum temperature in the last few days this week and provide relief for some time. Although the maximum temperature is expected to go up to 22 degrees Celsius, as well as dark fog in the morning hours has been estimated.
