Delhi smog: Arvind Kejriwal calls cabinet meeting today
New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has called an immediate meeting, on Sunday, to discuss the situation of air pollution in the national capital.
The meeting of cabinet is called at 12:30 pm. The level of air pollution has crossed 999 in Delhi. It's equal to smoking 44 cigarettes.
Meanwhile, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said, reported ANI,-"Critical situation; It's not about blame game, crop-burning in UP, Haryana and Punjab actually a contributor."
"We are talking about source of pollution; Farmers will not stop burning the crops till they are given incentives," Satyendra Jain said on Delhi smog.
To protest against this rising air pollution, some Delhiites are holding protest at the Jantar Mantar.
"Never has it happened that schools were shut due to pollution, frankly we cant raise children like this," said one of the protesters, reported ANI.
Recently, some well known schools in Delhi decided to declare holiday citing rising air pollution woes.
Meteorological Department had said that the situation will improve but since Saturday the smog cover is constantly increasing in the national capital.
