Delhi-Mumbai Akasa Air Flight Carrying 186 Passengers Receives Security Alert, Diverted To Ahmedabad
The flight carrying 186 passengers was diverted to Ahmedabad after receiving the bomb threat. All the passengers are safe and have been deplaned now.
An Akasa Air flight, flying from Delhi to Mumbai, with 186 passengers on board was diverted to Ahmedabad after receiving a security alert. The 186 passengers on board included an infant and six crew members. The passengers have now been deplaned successfully.
"Akasa Air flight QP 1719, flying from Delhi to Mumbai on June 03, 2024, and carrying 186 passengers, 1 infant and six crew members on board, received a security alert on board. As per prescribed safety and security procedures, the plane was diverted to Ahmedabad," an Akasa Air spokesperson told news aegncy ANI.
Following the security alert, the Captain followed all required emergency procedures and landed safely at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at 10:13 hrs.

"All the passengers on board have been deplaned. The Akasa Air is following all security protocols on ground and supporting all safety procedures," the spokesperson added.
Third Such Incident In June
In another similar incident a Mumbai-bound Vistara flight received a bomb threat on June 2. Following this, the flight carrying 306 people from Paris, made an emergency landing at 10:19 am. Due to the threat, full emergency had been declated at the city's airport prior to the flight's arrival.
On June 1, another such incident took place when an IndiGo flight from Varanasi to Delhi received a bomb threat.
The passengers were safely deplaned after landing at the Delhi airport.
"The IndiGo flight 6E 2232, operating from Varanasi to Delhi, had received a bomb threat," the airline said in its statement.
