Delhi: Minimum Temperature Recorded 8.3 Degrees, Air Quality Remains 'Very Poor'
Delhi, on Wednesday morning, recorded a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the air quality remained in the 'Very Poor' category.
New Delhi: The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, two notches below normal, according to PTI. The mercury is likely to dip to 6 degrees Celsius in the coming days, the India Meteorological Department said. The city had recorded a minimum temperature of 7.3 degrees Celsius — three notches below normal — on Tuesday.
This is the lowest temperature in the month since November 23, 2020 (6.2 degrees Celsius), as per PTI.
Meanwhile, the air quality was reported to be in the 'Very Poor' category, as per the report. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital was recorded at 332 this morning as per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) records.

An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
According to an ANI report, Delhi was covered in a layer of smog in the morning. The Lodhi Road and Akshardham area were reported to have visual smoke and fog.
In its latest forecast, the SAFAR recorded the quality of air in Dhirpur as 'severe' as the AQI here reached 460. Noida, also saw the air quality in the 'severe' category as the AQI rose to 438 today.
Meanwhile, Lodhi Road and Mathura Road also experienced 'very poor' air quality with AQI at 306 and 344, respectively.

On Tuesday, the air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the 'very poor' category as the SAFAR recorded Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) at 346. The SAFAR recorded Delhi's AQI at 317 on Monday morning, as per ANI.
On November 14, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) directed authorities to revoke curbs enforced in Delhi-NCR under Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan, this included a ban on non-essential construction activities.
