An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa made an emergency landing in Mumbai at 9:42 PM Wednesday due to suspected engine failure.

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa on Wednesday made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport, reportedly due to engine failure. According to sources, the aircraft landed at 9.42 pm. The pilot had raised an alarm at 9.25 pm.

Reacting to the incident, an IndiGo spokesperson said that a technical snag was detected on flight 6E 6271 while flying from Delhi to Manohar International Airport, Goa. The aircraft further said that following procedures, the aircraft was diverted and landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.

"While the aircraft will undergo necessary checks and maintenance before resuming operations, an alternative aircraft has been arranged for completing the journey, which will depart shortly with the customers," the spokesperson further added.

IndiGo Flight’s Risky Touchdown Attempt In Patna

In a separate incident on Wednesday, the 173 passengers onboard an IndiGo flight from Delhi had a harrowing experience when the aircraft took off immediately after touchdown at Patna's Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport. The incident took place at 9 pm on Tuesday due to unstabilised approach, officials at the airport said. IndiGo flight 6E 2482 touched down at the runway, but the pilot realised the aircraft might not have adequate runway space to slow down and subsequently took off. After circling in the sky for some time, the pilot landed the aircraft safely, they said.

Flight operations and passenger movement took place smoothly at Patna airport, they added.

IndiGo Flight To Delhi Makes Emergency Landing In Patna

On July 9, an IndiGo flight from Patna to Delhi made an emergency landing at Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport in Bihar's state capital shortly after take-off following a bird hit, causing panic among the 169 passengers on board. According to airport officials, the pilot’s quick decision and presence of mind averted a major mishap.

All passengers were safely evacuated, and the aircraft is undergoing a technical inspection. IndiGo is arranging alternate flights for the stranded passengers.

Officials said that the plane began to shake shortly after take-off, prompting the pilot to immediately return and land safely. The flight landed safely at 8.52 a.m., with no reported injuries. The airport director clarified that the windshield issue was not caused by a bird strike, as such incidents occur primarily during takeoff or landing when birds are present at lower altitudes.
