Delhi Excise Case: BJP Releases 'Sting Op' Video, Alleges Kejriwal And Sisodia Earned Crores Through 'Brokerage'

Delhi Excise Policy Case: The BJP has alleged that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia earned a lot of money through the AAP government's liquor policy.

New Delhi: Levelling more allegations of "scam" in the now-withdrawn excise policy of the Delhi government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a video terming it a "sting operation" that "proves" crores were earned through brokerage under the new scheme.

The BJP has claimed that the person seen in the video is Kulwinder Marwah, father of Shani Marwah, named as accused in the FIR registered by the CBI.

Addressing a press conference at BJP headquarters in Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia earned a lot of money through the excise policy.

"We asked Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia five questions regarding the new excise policy. However, the questions remain unanswered, and therefore we have come here to expose them through a sting operation," he claimed.

The BJP leader further said that the "loot" under the new liquor policy has been exposed in the video. "Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal took out the profit of 80% from the pockets of the people of Delhi and put them in their own pockets through brokerage," he alleged.

They kept their commission and exemption was given to the contractors and their friends to do whatever they want to do with the people of Delhi," Patra added.

He further accused that blacklisted companies were called and given contracts and the whole case was about converting white money into black money, "money was sent to Kejriwal and Sisodia."

Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta claimed the party's "sting operation" shows that "the sales of liquor increased, but the revenue decreased drastically."

Arvind Kejriwal brought the new liquor policy and corruption has happened in thousands of crores under it, he alleged, adding that "Kejriwal has wasted the tax money of the public by bringing a new liquor policy".

The allegations come as both Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, who also holds the excise portfolio, have asserted that there was no scam in the liquor policy.

Sisodia, an accused in an FIR registered by the CBI in the matter, has also claimed that he was given a clean chit by the probe agency.
