New Delhi: Looks like Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) list of all 70 candidates has shattered hopes of a few candidates who were expecting ticket by the ruling party in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections, happening next month. On Tuesday evening, the ruling party in the national capital released list of all candidates for the February 8 elections for 70-member assembly.
As per the list, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to contest from New Delhi and his deputy Manish Sisodia will fight from Patparganj. The list also comprises eight women including Aatishi Marlena, Parmila Tokas, Sarita Sing and others.
While 46 of the sitting MLAs will re-contest the elections, 15 sitting legislators have been replaced. As nine seats were vacant, the AAP has also named new candidates.
New candidates have been fielded by AAP on Assembly seats of Chandni Chowk, Karawal Nagar, Bijwasan, Rajouri Garden, Gandhi Nagar, Matia Mahal and Dwarka. In what is touted to be an unexpected reshuffle by Kejriwal-led party, sitting MLA Adarsh Shastri, who is the grandson of former PM Lal Bahadur Shashtri, was replaced by Vinay Mishtra from Dwarka assembly seat.

Likewise, from the Matia Mahal seat, MLA Aseem Ahmed Khan was denied ticket to field Shoaib Iqbal, who recently joined AAP from Congress.
Former Congress leader Prahlad Singh Sawhney has been replaced former AAP MLA Alka Lamba, who was disqualified from the Delhi Assembly by Speaker Ram Niwas Goel 'on grounds of defection'.
Naveen Choudhary (Deepu) will now fight polls on AAP ticket in 2020 from Gandhi Nagar seat replacing Anil Bajpai who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019 after the party sacked him following a rift with party leadership.

In what might be considered as a big controversy ahead of the Assembly elections, sitting AAP MLA from Badarpur ND Sharma accused Kejriwal and his deputy Sisodia of taking Rs 20 crore for giving the election ticket to a 'land mafia'. Sharma has resigned from the party after learning that he was not given party ticket to contest polls.
Minister for Employment, Development, Labour, General Administration and Irrigation in Government of Delhi, Gopal Rai has been fielded by the party from Badarpur seat.
