This will be Defence Minister's first visit and Narvane's second visit to Ladakh since the clash between armies of both nations in May. As per reports, the visit will most likely be concluded within a day.
During the visit, Singh is expected to hold high-level meetings with senior military leadership, PTI reported. For the last seven weeks, armies of India and China are locked in the standoff in multiple locations in eastern Ladakh.
The tension escalated manifold after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a violent clash in Galwan Valley on June 15.
On June 15, Indian and Chinese troops were engaged in the worst face-off in the last five decades. The de-escalation talks between both the parties have reached a mutual consensus on de-escalation. However, as per sources, China is still secretly building up its military near the LAC.
Recently a satellite image of Chinese tent along the LAC had further raised tensions. Sources have also revealed that the Chinese troops are planning to rope in martial arts experts to fight against India.
