Covid Update: India Records 15,940 Fresh Coronavirus Cases, 20 deaths In Last 24 Hours

An increase of 3,495 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

Covid-19 cases have been on the rise in the country for the last few days. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry Saturday, 15,940 coronavirus cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The infection has also claimed 20 lives and the number of deaths due to the infection now stands at 5,24,974. The active cases is 91,779, while the daily positivity rate is 4.39%

The total number of discharges according to the ministry data in the last 24 hours is 12,425, which takes the total recovery to 4,27,61,481, which is 98.58 per cent. 

An increase of 3,495 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. From 88,284 Covid cases on Friday, the number now stands at  91,779. According to the ministry, the active cases comprise 0.21 per cent of the total infections.

Twenty people lost their lives due to Covid in last 24 hours due to which the total number of deaths in the country now stands 5,24,974. The first death due to the pandemic was reported in March 2020.

The daily positivity rate as of June 25 is 4.39 per cent, said the home ministry data.

Since Covid-19 outbreak, 86,02,58,139 samples have been tested out of which 3,63,103 samples were tested on Friday, According to the Indian Council of Medical Research.
