Friendship Goals! Man Drives 14,00 KMs From Bokaro To Noida With Oxygen To Save Friend's Life

This took place after the man named Devendra got a call from the caretaker of his childhood friend Rajan that his pal’s heath condition has deteriorated and that he urgently needs oxygen, which is not available in Noida.

Noida: It’s aptly said “many people will walk in and out of your life but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart”. Setting an example of humanity in this tough and challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, a man travelled 1,400 kilometers on car from Bokaro in Jharkhand to Uttar Pradesh’s Noida city carrying medical oxygen for his friend.

This took place after the man named Devendra got a call from the caretaker of his childhood friend Rajan that his pal’s heath condition has deteriorated and that he urgently needs oxygen, which is not available in Noida.

Devendra, who was then in Ranchi, drove on his bike to Bokaro and arranged for oxygen. He then borrowed his friend’s car and drove all the way to Noida and saved his friend’s life.

Devendra told ABP News in an exclusive conversation that he would not have been able to save his friend’s life had he been even a little late in arriving.

“On Saturday night, I got a call that Rajan’s health is deteriorating and the one cylinder they had with them is going to run out of oxygen soon. They also said that they are not able to arrange for a bed in the hospital. Sanjay Bhaiya (caretaker), who was taking care of him, then took him home. Bhaiya had arranged for the cylinder but it was about to run out of oxygen. He told me that he could not arrange for the cylinder despite looking for it at several places and added that anything can happen if oxygen is not arranged at the earliest. I reached Ranchi by bike in the night, arranged for a cylinder, took a friend’s car and drove all the way. I reached on time and immediately fitted the oxygen cylinder that I bought. My coming all the way would have been a waste had I been even half an hour late,” he said.

Devendra, who was accompanied by Rajan’s brother, also said that they faced a lot of problems during the 1400-km long journey but drove by turns continuously for 16 hours.

“We reached in 15 to 16 hours. We faced several jams as well in Banaras but drove non-stop to ensure we reach at the earliest,” he added.

Devendra further said that he studied along with Rajan till Class X after which the latter came to Delhi for further studies and eventually began his job in the national capital.
