India on Wednesday enlisted 1,61,386 new COVID-19 cases, 3.4% lower than yesterday. The total caseload remains at 4,16,30,885. India's active caseload declined by 1,21,456, the total remains at 16,21,603.
As many as 1,733 fatalities were accounted for as of now, taking the death toll to 4,97,975. An aggregate of 2,81,109 patients recuperated as of now, which carries the total recoveries to 3,95,11,307 and the recovery rate presently remains at 94.91%.
The top five states which have enlisted maximum cases are Kerala with 52,199 cases, trailed by Tamil Nadu with 16,096 cases, Maharashtra with 18,067 cases, Karnataka with 20,505 cases, and Gujarat with 8,338 cases.
Around 65.1% of the new cases are accounted for from these five states, with Kerala alone representing 32.15% of the new cases.
India has administered an aggregate of 57,42,659 dosages as of now, which brings the total count of doses regulated to 1,67,29,42,707.
An aggregate of 17,42,793 samples was tested in the last 24 hours.
Karnataka on Wednesday logged 20,505 fresh Covid cases and 81 deaths in the last 24 hours, while 40,903 persons have fully recovered and were discharged.
The total active cases in the state stood at 1,77, 244. The positivity rate for the day was 12.55 per cent and case fatality rate at 0.39 per cent.
The cases in Bengaluru Urban district jumped to 8,850 from 6,685 cases the previous day, while 21,493 persons have been discharged. There were 13 more deaths.
Mysuru (1,209) and Belagavi (1,060) also recorded a high number of cases.
The state's positivity rate has decreased from 20.44 per cent last week to 12.55 per cent, while recovery rate has increased to 94.37 per cent from 90.04 per cent but the case fatality rate has increased from 0.12 per cent last week to 0.39 per cent.
On Tuesday, India had announced 1,67,059 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country's combined caseload to 4,14,69,499. India's everyday Covid-19 cases on Tuesday were 20.4 percent lower than what was accounted for the earlier day.
While 1,192 Covid-19 deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 4,96,242.
Delhi Reports Decline In Daily Caseload With 2,668 New Infections. Positivity Rate Drop To 4.3%
Delhi on Thursday reported 2,668 fresh COVID-19 cases and 13 more deaths, while the positivity rate dropped to 4.3 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.
With this, the national capital's case count increased to 18,38,647 and the death toll climbed to 25,932, the latest health bulletin stated.
