Coronavirus India HIGHLIGHTS: The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in a statement on Thursday said that Covid-19 recoveries in India have crossed 10-lakh mark, which comes as a positive figure amid the grim milestones. India has seen the worst-ever spike in its daily cases count with over 52,000 fresh cases today. Total cases in Maharashtra, the worst-hit state, has breached 4 lakh-mark. Providing relief to people. Delhi Cabinet has decided to reduce VAT on diesel from 30% to 16.75%. This will reduce price of diesel in Delhi from Rs 82 to Rs 73.64 i.e. by Rs 8.36 per litre, Kejriwal announced. Coronavirus India LIVE Updates: As India’s Covid-19 cases have breached the grim milestone of 15-lakh, the recovery rate of the country is also showing positive trends. The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in a statement on Thursday said that Covid-19 recoveries in India have crossed 10-lakh mark. On Thursday, India recorded a single-day spike of 52,123 positive cases & 775 deaths  in the last 24 hours.This is so far the highest spike in Covid-19 cases. Total Covid-19 positive cases stand at 15,83,792 including 5,28,242 active cases, 10,20,582 cured/discharged & 34,968 deaths. the Union Health Ministry has said.

Meanwhile. new research indicates that those infected by the coronavirus may not be capable of transmitting the virus after 9 days. In a new study that was reported in medRxiv on Tuesday and is awaiting peer review, researchers have said that those infected by the novel coronavirus may not spread the infection after 9 days

Recovery Rate:

India still the third worst-hit nation by the pandemic now has 15,83,792 cases and 34,968 people have lost their lives to the virus while the recovered cases crossed 10 lakh mark. The total number of active cases are 52,123. The recovery rate on Wednesday was 64.50 per cent. It is now near to 65%



States:
Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state as it reported 9,211 new COVID-19 cases 298 deaths on Wednesday. The total number of cases is now at 4,00,651 including 2,39,755 recovered cases, 1,46,129 active cases and 14,463 deaths.
The total number of cases in Tamil Nadu reached 2,34,114. Delhi reported 1,035 COVID-19 cases yesterday, taking the total number of cases in the national capital to 1,32,275.

Coronavirus in Karnataka Update-

Despite the spike in Coronavirus cases in the state, the Karnataka government has decided to do away with night curfews and Sunday curfew from 1st August under Unlock 3.0. 'In accordance with the unlock 3.0 guidelines from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Sunday lockdown on August 2 has been lifted along with night curfew from August 1 between 9pm and 5am,' state Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar said in an order.

'With more relaxations of lockdown restrictions, gyms and yoga institutes will be allowed to reopen from August 5 across the state,' said Bhaskar.

Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir Update-

Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday reported 450 new Coronavirus cases. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the Union Territory has now neared the 20,000-mark with 7,662, active cases. However, on the positive side, 11,842 patients have recovered from the deadly virus. 17 Coronavirus infected patients died of Covid-19 on Thursday ( 1 Jammu and 16 from Kashmir). The death toll in the state now stands at 365.

SHOCKING! For the second straight day in a row, Andhra Pradesh recorded over 10,000 new Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections. 10,167 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in the state as Andhra Pradesh reported its highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases on Thursday.
