Coronavirus: Total Positive Cases In India Rise To 151; Maharashtra Worst Hit With 41 Infected People
Coronavirus: Maharashtra witnessed two new cases and continues to top the chart with the most number of infected people - 41, as per health officials in the western state, followed by Kerala, which has total 27 cases.
New Delhi: Several fresh cases of novel Coronavirus COVID-19 were confirmed on Wednesday morning, taking the total number of cases in the country to 151, which includes three death cases in Delhi, Karnataka and Maharashtra. As per an update by the Health Ministry’s website at 09:00 AM on Wednesday, the total number of active COVID 2019 cases across India including foreign nationals, is 130.
So far the government has screened 13,54,858 passengers at airports. Total number of Discharged/Cured COVID 2019 cases across India is 14.
A state-wise data, on the Health Ministry's website showed that Maharashtra witnessed two new cases and continues to top the chart with the most number of infected people - 41, as per health officials in the western state, followed by Kerala, which has total 27 cases.

On Tuesday, several new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed from several states, including West Bengal and Haryana, which took the count to 137.
State-wise, the number of confirmed cases are: 1 in Andhra Pradesh, 10 in Delhi, 11 in Karnataka, 41 in Maharashtra, 15 in Haryana, 11 in Karnataka, 1 in Odisha, 1 in Punjab, 4 in Rajasthan, 1 in Tamil Nadu, 5 in Telangana, 3 in Jammu and Kashmir, 8 in Ladakh, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, 1 in Uttarakhand, 1 in West Bengal and 26 in Kerala.

Health Ministry issues guidelines for notifying COVID-19 affected persons by private institutions
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued fresh guidelines for notifying COVID-19 affected persons by private healthcare institutions.
The Ministry stated that "it is of utmost importance that each and every case (suspects/confirmed) of COVID-19 is isolated and provided appropriate treatment and their contacts are traced at the earliest to break the chain of transmission."

It added that it is important that support and cooperation of the private sector is enlisted in this regard.
The Health Ministry stated that it shall be mandatory for all hospitals, both government and private, medical officers in government health institutions and registered private medical practitioners including AYUSH practitioners, to "notify such person(s) with COVID-19 affected person to the concerned district surveillance unit."
"All practitioners shall also get the self-declaration forms, who, within their knowledge, are having travel history of COVID-19 affected countries as per the extant guidelines and are falling under the case definition of COVID-19. In case the person has any such history in the last 14 days and is symptomatic as per case definition of COVID-19, the person must be isolated in the hospital and will be tested for COVID-19 as per protocol," the Ministry stated.
It also mentioned that information of all such cases should be given to the state helpline number and also to national helpline 1075.
