Coronavirus Highlights: More than 18 lakh (18,52,611) precaution doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered to healthcare workers, frontline workers, and those aged 60 and above with comorbidities since the drive began on Monday. India's vaccination coverage crossed the 153 crore mark on Tuesday.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms. Lata Mangeshkar has been admitted to the ICU of Breach Candy hospital in south Mumbai and is said to be doing well.
"I have tested positive for Covid-19 today with mild symptoms. Following all the necessary protocols, I have isolated myself and I am under home quarantine. I request all those who have come in contact with me to isolate themselves and get tested," Nitin Gadkari tweeted.

Mumbai saw a decline in Covid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day while Delhi registered more than 20,000 infections on Tuesday.
Even though the highly transmissible Omicron variant has led to a spurt in cases in the country, hospitalisations and deaths are fewer compared to the peaks driven by Delta last year.
Delhi recorded 21,259 cases and 23 Covid-related deaths on Tuesday, which is the highest in the last eight months, taking the death toll to 25,200. The positivity rate has amounted to 25.65 percent, according to health department data.
On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal assured the people that a lockdown won't be imposed in the national capital.
"Rising Covid cases are a matter of concern but there is no need to panic. Very few people are getting hospitalised. Wearing a mask is very important. There will be no lockdown if you continue to wear a mask. There is no plan to impose a lockdown as of now," Kejriwal said while addressing a virtual press conference.

More than 26,19,670 precaution doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered to healthcare workers, frontline workers and those aged 60 and above with comorbidities since January 10, the Union Health Ministry said.
Meanwhile, India's Covid vaccination coverage crossed 154.50 crore on Wednesday, with more than 66 lakh vaccine doses being administered till 7 pm. Also, 2,96,94,734 first doses have been given to beneficiaries in the 15-18 years age group so far.
