Coronavirus Outbreak: Confirmed Cases In India Mount To 223; Maharashtra Tops List With 49
Coronavirus in India: Among the 20 states in India, Maharashtra (47) has the highest patient count. Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka have reported one each coronavirus related deaths
New Delhi: As per the data put out by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in India has climbed to 223. Of those tested positive, 20 were discharged and cured of the virus across India, four died, while 199 still remained active.
"India now stands at 223 (including 32 foreigners), 4 deaths (1 each) in Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra," Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Friday.
Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka have reported one each Coronavirus related deaths.
Among the 20 states where the virus has appeared so far, Maharashtra has the highest patient count. The state has 44 Indian patients and three foreigners patients. None has been cured so far in the state.

"A total of 14,31,734 passengers were screened at airports till date," the Ministry added. Of the total 195 cases found across India, 163 were Indians while 32 are foreigners.
In his address to nation on the backdrop novel Coronavirus outbreak, Prime Minister on Thursday had asked citizens to follow Janta Curfew from 7am to 9pm on 22nd March i.e. coming Sunday in order to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

"This will prepare us for future circumstances. I urge all state governments to help comply with this Janta Curfew," he said.
PM Modi had also urged the business community and higher income groups to look after the economic needs of those from lower income groups, from whom they receive various services, urging them not to cut their salary on the days they are unable to render the services due to inability to come to the workplace.
PM Modi also said that Coronavirus outbreak is a medical emergency for the entire human race and asked people to adopt social distancing for a while. He urged citizens of the country to take all possible precautions to prevent the further spread of the deadly virus.
