Coronavirus Cases: India Records 14,306 Infections In Last 24 Hrs, Active Cases Lowest In 239 Days

Corona Cases in India: India continues to report less than 15,000 Coronavirusb cases in a single day. The country registered 14,306 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.18% which is the highest since March 2020. 18,762 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,35,67,367

Kerala

Kerala on Sunday recorded 8,538 fresh coronavirus cases, and 363 related deaths which raised the caseload to 49,06,125 and toll to 28,592.

Of the 363 deaths, 71 were reported in the last few days, 211 were those which were not confirmed until June 18 last year due to lack of adequate documentation, and 81 were designated as COVID deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and Supreme Court directions, a state government release said.

With 11,366 more people recovering from the virus since Saturday, the total recoveries touched 48,08,775 and the active cases dropped to 77,363, the release said.

As many as 79,100 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest with 1,481 cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram 1,210 and Thrissur 852.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 1,410 new coronavirus positive cases, taking the overall infection tally to 66,02,961, while the death of 18 patients pushed the toll to 1,40,016 according to the state health department.

A total of 1,520 patients recuperated and got discharged during the day, which raised the state's recovery count to 64,35,439.

There are 23,894 active cases in the state at present, it said.

As many as 1,30,732 people were tested on Sunday. With this, the cumulative test figure reached 6,18,93,695.

Mumbai city reported 400 new cases and six deaths, which took its total case count to 7,54,507 and death toll to 16,213.
