'Allow Vaccination For Journalists On Priority': Delhi Govt Writes To Centre
"Journalists should be treated as frontline workers and should be allowed vaccination on priority," Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said.
Vaccination for Journalists: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday informed that his government is writing to the Central government to consider journalists as frontline workers and should be allowed for vaccination on priority.
"Journalists are reporting from most adverse situations. They should be treated as frontline workers and should be allowed vaccination on priority. Delhi government is writing to centre in this regard," he said.
The announcement by Kejriwal comes a day after national capital registered more than 13,500 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the highest ever single-day spike since the onset of the pandemic early last year.
Earlier this month, Kejriwal wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to allow a mass vaccination drive in Delhi. Kejriwal in his letter has requested Modi to allow the state government to open new vaccination centres in Delhi as well as allow relaxation in the age for the inoculation and making it available to all.

With significant rise in daily number of Coronavirus cases in the national capital, AAP-led Delhi government has been pushing for a mass vaccination drive across the city to cover all the residents of the city.
Kejriwal has also claimed that if the Centre allows mass vaccination, then the Delhi government can vaccinate all the residents within three months.
