What Are Covid Guidelines For Schools In UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, & Haryana? Know Details

Schools from UP to MP, Rajasthan, and Punjab have either been closed or classes up to 8th have been made online.

New Delhi: Covid cases in India are increasing each day. The number of patients in almost every state of the country is registering an uptick. The number of omicron patients has also increased and there are speculations about the beginning of the covid third wave.

In some states, schools were beginning to reopen but were once again forced to shut down. Schools from UP to MP, Rajasthan, and Punjab have either been closed or classes up to 8th have been made online. Know more on what are the covid related guidelines regarding schools in these states.

Punjab and Haryana: In view of the increasing cases of corona in Punjab and Haryana, the state government announced winter vacation in schools for the time being. Under this, schools are closed till January 12, 2022.

Uttar Pradesh: Schools in UP have been closed for the time being in view of the chilly weather and the increasing cases of the omicron variant of coronavirus. The state government directed the closure of schools up to class VIII from December 31 to January 14, 2022. However, these rules are only for government schools. Students who want to attend school will have to bring written permission from parents and online classes will continue to operate as before.

Rajasthan: Similarly, in Rajasthan, the state government closed all schools till January 9 for class 8. These instructions are applicable to all schools. Here too, students of class 9 can come to school with the permission of their parents. In addition, they will have to strictly follow rules such as wearing masks and social distancing.

Bihar: In Bihar, in view of the increasing corona cases, precautions are being taken in schools. Schools from classes 1 to 8 have been closed here till January 8. At present, the government cited cold weather as the reason for the closure of the school. If the cold increases, schools here can be closed for a long time. However, schools have also been closed due to the increased risk of corona. In every state, the government is increasing vigilance regarding corona.
