India Records 23,529 Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, Recovery Rate Highest Since March 2020

India's Active caseload stands at 2,77,020; the lowest in 195 days. Recovery Rate is currently at 97.85%, highest since March 2020

Corona Cases Update: The country witnessed a slight surge in daily Coronavirus cases after registering less than 20,000 cases for two consecutive days. India reported 23,529 new Covid cases, 28,718 recoveries, and 311 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.

Active cases: 2,77,020

Total cases: 3,37,39,980

Total recoveries: 3,30,14,898

Death toll: 4,48,062

Total vaccination: 88,34,70,578 (65,34,306 in last 24 hrs)

Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.82% which is the lowest since March 2020

Recovery Rate is currently at 97.85%, highest since March 2020.

Kerala

Kerala on Wednesday recorded 12,161 fresh COVID-19 cases and 155 deaths, which took the caseload to 46,64,971 and the toll to 24,965.

The number of people who recovered from the infection since Tuesday was 17,862, which brought the total recoveries to 44,95,904 and the number of active cases to 1,43,500, an official press release said.

As many as 90,394 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, it said.

Among the 14 districts, Thrissur recorded the highest number of cases with 1,541, followed by Ernakulam (1,526), Thiruvananthapuram (1,282), Kozhikode (1,275) and Malappuram (1,017).

Of the new cases, 86 were health workers, 64 from outside the state and 11,413 infected through contact, with the source of it not clear in 598.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra reported 3,187 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and 49 fresh deaths, taking the infection tally to 65,47,793 and the toll to 1,39,011, according to the bulletin released by the state Health Ministry.

The bulletin said 3,253 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours taking the recoveries to 63,68,530.

Maharashtra now has 36,675 active cases and the state COVID-19 recovery rate is 97.26 per cent, while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

Ahmednagar district reported the highest 561 new infections in the state.

Among the eight regions of Maharashtra, the Mumbai region reported the highest 1,064 new COVID-19 cases, followed by the Pune region at 1,020. The Nashik region reported 738 new cases, Kolhapur 220, Latur 84, Aurangabad 43, Akola 11 and the Nagpur region seven.
