India Reports 12,428 Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs As Maharashtra Registers Lowest Cases Since March 2020
Maharashtra on Monday reported 889 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest daily infection since May 5, 2020.
Corona cases update: The country has registered a huge decline in Covid cases on Tuesday. India has reported 12,428 new cases, 356 deaths, and 15,951 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The country's active caseload stands at 1,63,816.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Affairs said that a total of 60,19,01,543 samples were tested up to October 25; of which 11,31,826 were tested on October 25.

Maharashtra on Monday reported 889 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest daily infection since May 5, 2020, and 12 fresh fatalities, the least number of one-day death count in more than 18 months, while nearly 1,600 patients recovered from the infection, reported PTI.
With the addition of new cases, the statewide Covid tally rose to 66,03,850, while the death toll increased to 1,40,028.
As many as 15 districts out of the total 36 did not report any fresh cases.
The state had logged 841 COVID-19 cases May 5, 2020, and nine fatalities on April 20, 2020.
Generally, the state reports fewer cases on Monday, mainly due to a limited number of coronavirus tests as compared to other days. Less than 85,000 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.
The official said with 1,586 patients discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, the number of recovered cases surged to 64,37,025.
The state now has 23,184 active cases.
Kerala
Kerala recorded 6,664 fresh coronavirus cases, and 281 related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the caseload to 49,12,789 and toll to 28,873, reported PTI.
Of the 281 deaths, 53 were reported in the last few days, 219 were those which were not confirmed until June 18 last year due to lack of adequate documentation and 9 were designated as COVID deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and Supreme Court directions, a state government release said.
With 9,010 more people recovering from the virus since Sunday, the total recoveries touched 48,17,785 and the active cases dropped to 74,735, the release said.
As many as 61,202 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
