Congress forms departments for workers

A party release said that Irfan Alam will be Vice Chairman of the Unorganised Workers Congress.

New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday created two new organisational departments to reach out to professionals as also workers in the unorganised sector. The departments are All India Professionals Congress, which will be headed by party MP Shashi Tharoor, and All India Unorganised Workers Congress, which will be headed by Arbind Singh. A party release said that Irfan Alam will be Vice Chairman of the Unorganised Workers Congress. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has approved the suggestion to create two more organisational departments in the AICC (All India Congress Committee), the release said. Gandhi also approved the proposal to change the name of the party's fishermen department to All India Fishermen Congres
