'Some Secret Hidden In EVMs': Adhir On PM Modi's '400 Seats' Prediction, Farooq Makes 'Magic Lamp' Jibe

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised doubts on people's right to vote, if the country's leader makes such a statement before the elections.

New Delhi: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remark expressing confidence that the BJP alone would win more than 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Tuesday said, "How does Modi ji know before the elections that there will be 370 seats?" As per news agency ANI, Adhir claimed that there is some secret hidden in EVMs. He further added, "How does Modi ji know before the elections that there will be 370 seats? If they have removed Article 370, it means that you will get 370 seats. I think there is some secret hidden in EVMs. It seems that Modi ji has some hand in the EVMs.".

Adhir raised doubts about people's right to vote, if the country's leader makes such a statement before the elections, reported ANI.

National Conference MP and former Jammu-Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah made a tongue-in-cheek remark about the Prime Minister, saying, "He (PM Modi) has a magical lamp, so what he says might come true", reported ANI.

Later, Congress MP KC Venugopal also took a dig at PM Modi, saying, "If the PM has already got 400 seats, what is the point of elections now? ", as per ANI.

Congress leader Deependra Hooda expressed confidence in the ultimate authority of the public in deciding election results.

Earlier, PM Modi on Monday said the third term of his government is not far and this time the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win 400 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party, individually will get 370 seats.
