‘Alliance Ka Alignment Bigad Gaya’: PM Modi Taunts I.N.D.I.A, Says BJP Alone Will Get 370 Seats In LS Polls

PM Narendra Modi hit out at the I.N.D.I.A. bloc as he also claimed that the NDA will cross 400 and BJP will get 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday replied to the Motion of Thanks in the Presidential address, delivered on January 31, 2024. PM launched a sharp attack on the Opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc in his last Parliament speech ahead of the Lok Sabha elections slated to happen this year. In a major assertion, he projected a resounding victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming LS polls. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the NDA would secure more than 400 seats, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alone set to win at least 370 seats.

He said, "Alliance ka hi alignment bigad gaya (The alignment of the alliance is ruined)." The comment is in reference to the internal friction in the Opposition bloc where seat sharing agreement talks failed in states like Punjab and West Bengal.

Meanwhile, PM Modi emphasised, "I can gauge the mood of the nation; it will definitely give NDA more than 400 seats and the BJP at least 370 seats". He further highlighted his belief that the opposition parties, recognising their diminished prospects, have decided to remain in the opposition for an extended period.

"The opposition has lost the courage to contest elections and has resolved to stay on the opposition benches for a long time," Prime Minister Modideclared, adding that the government's third term was imminent, with only 100-125 days remaining until the upcoming elections.

Emphasising unity within the BJP ranks, Modi invoked the party slogan, "Abki baar," and asserted, "400 paar," with BJP members joining in unison.

'Ab Ki Baar, 400 Paar' slogan was raised as he spoke.

The Prime Minister referred to the Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's gaffe in the Rajya Sabha, stating, "Even Kharge ji is saying the same thing."

'Can’t You See The Biggest OBC Here?': PM Modi To Congress

Regarding the Congress' remarks on the OBC community, PM Modi questioned the grand old party, saying, "Congress party and UPA govt did not do justice with OBCs. A few days ago, Karpoori Thakur ji was conferred with Bharat Ratna. In 1970, when he became Bihar CM, what not was done to destabilise his govt. Congress can't tolerate OBCs...They keep counting how many OBCs are there in govt. Can’t you (Congress) see the biggest OBC here?"

The remarks came as the Congress party has alleged a lack of representation of the OBC community in the Modi government while also demanding a nationwide caste census.
