Cong Govt Will Come And Give Evidence Against Corruption: Rashid Alvi On FIRs Against Party Leaders In MP

"If Madhya Pradesh CM needs evidence of corruption, then wait for two-three months, the Congress government will come, they will be given evidence and action will be taken," the Congress said.

Congress on Sunday trained guns on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan after Indore police registered an FIR against party leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Kamal Nath accusing the MP government of corruption. Congress leader Rashid Alvi claimed that the corruption was happening in the state, adding the CM should wait for two to three months if he wants evidence as Congress would be forming the government in the state by then.

"Corruption is happening continuously in Madhya Pradesh. If Madhya Pradesh CM needs evidence of corruption, then wait for two-three months, the Congress government will come, they will be given evidence and action will be taken against the corrupt. BJP is scared of Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi," he said, as per news agency ANI.

"They are left with nothing (no issues)... Earlier they were using ED against the opposition leaders now they are registering FIR. They are just trying to torture the opposition by doing all these things,” said Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Jha.

The FIR included names of party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, MP Congress chief Kamal Nath and former Union Minister Arun Yadav.

The Indore police, in a statement, said that the local BJP's legal cell convener Nimesh Pathak complained that a fake letter bearing the name of a person called Gyanendra Awasthi was circulated on social media, reported PTI.

The letter claimed that contractors in the state are being asked to pay 50 per cent commission.

Reacting to the FIRs, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel claimed that the contractors have written that 50 per cent commission is being taken from them.

"When contractors are themselves writing that 50% commission is being taken then what more evidence is required? The FIR won't hide the truth," he said.

According to PTI, a case has been registered against Awasthi and “handlers” of X accounts of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Kamal Nath and Arun Yadav at the city's Sanyogitaganj police station. Police further added that Pathaks’s complaints are being investigated.

"A fake letter bearing the name of a person called Gyanendra Awasthi was circulated on social media. On the basis of a complaint, an FIR has been filed against Twitter handlers of Priyanka Gandhi, Kamal Nath and Arun Yadav," Indore Police Commissioner Makrand Deuskar said.
