CM Yogi may face legal action for Hanuman remark
CM had called Lord Hanuman as Dalit Tribal
Jaipur: Suresh Mishra, President of Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, has filed a petition in a lower court here seeking permission to file an FIR against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for calling Lord Hanuman a Dailt Tribal.
Mishra accused Adityanath of hurting the sentiments of Hindus by making the statement at an election rally in Rajasthan.
Mishra said the petition had been filed under Sections 295, 295(A) and 298 of the Indian Penal Code. The court shall hear the case on December 11.
Earlier, the Mahasabha has demanded an apology from the Chief Minister and threatened legal action if none came in three days.
SC/ST protest in Delhi:
Days after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath termed lord Hanuman as Dalit, protests erupted in Delhi’s Connaught place’s Hanuman Temple where people from minority community gathered and raised slogans. ‘Ek he naara doh he naam, jai bheem jai hanuman’ and ‘jab hanuman humara hai toh mandir kyu tumhara hai’ slogans could be heard being raised by the protesters.
The protesters could be seen gathered outside the temple, sitting on the floor.
CM silent on Bulandshahr violence
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is yet to break his silence on the Bulandshahr violence; which took place between two communities and has claimed the lives of two people, including one police inspector.
The incident however has been condemned by Uttar Pradesh’s deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.
