Change In Karnataka Cabinet? Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa Called To Delhi

Amid speculations about a possible reshuffle in the Karnataka Council of Ministers, Yediyurappa has said that no such discussion has taken place. However, he has accepted to go to Delhi.

A sound of change is evident in Karnataka. There is speculation about a possible reshuffle in the Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's cabinet. Yediyurappa has been called to Delhi to meet Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda. He will be arriving in Delhi by 5 pm today.

Karnataka Chief Minister on Thursday had said that there is no proposal to reconstitute his cabinet. "I am going to Delhi to talk to the Prime Minister and meet several Union Ministers on the development of the state, irrigation projects, and other issues," Karnataka CM said.

When asked about cabinet reorganisation, he said: "There is no such proposal in front of me, let's see after discussion (in Delhi)."

Amid speculations about a possible reshuffle, state BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday had said that it depends on the discretion of the Chief Minister.

In the proposed meeting with the Prime Minister and the ministers concerned, the Chief Minister is likely to seek the approval of the Central Government for the Mekedatu project on the river Kaveri. The neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu is opposing the project.

Responding to a question on meeting the Prime Minister, Yediyurappa said: "He (Prime Minister) has asked to meet and give time. So after meeting everyone, I will be back on Saturday."
