Centre moves SC seeking permission for release of undisputed 66 acre land around Ayodhya disputed site
The government has sought claim of 66 acre land, which excludes the disputed 0.3 acre land. As only 0.3 acre land is disputed land, where the Babri Masjid was constructed.
New Delhi: A day after the hearing in Ayodhya Land dispute case was deferred further as one of the judges from the 5-Judge bench was on leave; the government has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court and have sought claim of the undisputed land in Ayodhya.
The government has sought claim of 66 acre land, which excludes the disputed 0.3 acre land. As only 0.3 acre land is disputed land, where the Babri Masjid was constructed.
The government has sought permission of construction on the remaining 2.77 acre land.
The government has asked to hand over the undisputed land to Ramjanambhoomi Nyas.
Speaking on the same, BJP leader Subramaian Swamy said “Half of the work has been done, and I thank government for the same.” He further said that “Rest of the work should also be done soon”.
This comes at a time when various allies and supporters have been taken jibes on the government for their alleged inaction on construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
