Central Team To Visit Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana To Review Covid-19 Crisis Between June 26-29

India’s overall COVID-19 tally has been pushed to over 4.73 lakh with nearly 17,000 new cases in 24 hours span in the country.

New Delhi: There has been a continuous surge in the number of Coronavirus cases in India with Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu being the the worst-hit states among others. Amid the worsening situation, the Union Health Ministry has decided to comprise a central team that will visit Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana to take note of the measures being taken by the states in handling COVID-19. Here's What The Corona Stats Suggest According to the reports, the central team headed by Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal will visit the three states between June 26 and 29. The experts will coordinate with the state officials in reviewing the measures undertaken so far and further strengthening the COVID-19 management efforts in those areas in order to curb the spread of deadly Coronavirus infection. As per the latest updates from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s overall COVID-19 tally has been pushed to over 4.73 lakh with nearly 17,000 new cases in 24 hours span in the country. The fatalities reported in 24 hours stood at 418  and the total death toll neared 15k-mark. There are currently 1.86 lakh active Coronavirus cases in the country. The most active cases are in Maharashtra, where more than 62,000 infected people are being treated in hospitals. National Capital Delhi is at number two, Tamil Nadu at number three, Gujarat at number four and West Bengal at number five. These five states have the most active cases. A Look At The Progress India is fourth in the world in active case. That is, India is the fourth country where most of the infected are being treated in hospitals. The officials from ministry have said that there are 33.39 COVID-19 cases in India for every one lakh population, against the global average of 114.64. Briefing on the fatalities in India, the ministry said that the country has 1.06 death per lakh population, which is among the lowest in the world as the global average is 6.24.
