Central Govt Calls Farmers For Meeting On Dec 30 To End The Deadlock
The Central government has invited farmers for talks on Wednesday, 2 PM, at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi.
Delhi: The Central Government on Monday wrote to farmers and invited them for a meeting at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday to end the deadlock. So far, five rounds of formal talks held between the Centre and 40 protesting farmer unions have remained inconclusive
Sanjay Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and farmer's Welfare, on Monday wrote a letter to the heads of the farm unions asking them to join the meeting and said that the Union Government is ready for the talks.
According to the letter, the meeting will focus on the three farm laws, the deteriorating air quality of Delhi and its nearby regions and the electricity amendment bill 2020.
The farmers’ protest in India, which has swelled up to become a mass protest now, erupting in the heartland of the country, New Delhi, has now clocked 33 days, with no breakthrough in sight.
