'CBI Is A Brand For Justice': PM Modi Inaugurates New Offices On 60th Anniversary, Launches Official Twitter Handle
PM Modi kicked off the CBI's diamond jubilee festivities and launched the agency's Twitter account. Speaking on the occasion PM Modi said that CBI has given hope and strength to the common citizen.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday kicked off the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) diamond jubilee festivities. Speaking on the occassion PM Modi called CBI a brand for justice and said, "CBI has given hope and strength to the common citizen. People hold protests to demand CBI inquiry as CBI has emerged as a brand for justice". PM Modi also established the agency's Twitter account.

The new PM Modi also said that India cannot move forward without professional and efficient Institutions like CBI and it is CBI's main responsibility to make country corruption free. PM Modi also established the agency's Twitter account.

"India cannot move forward without professional and efficient Institutions like CBI. From bank frauds to wildlife-related frauds, the CBI's scope of work has increased manifold but the main responsibility of the CBI is to make the country corruption free, PM Modi said as quoted by the news agency ANI.
During the event PM Modi also said that 10 years ago there was a competition to do more and more corruption and big scams took place during that time. "10 years ago, there was a competition to do more and more corruption. Big scams took place during that time but the accused were not scared because the system stood by them… After 2014, we worked on a mission mode against corruption, black money," PM Modi said.
"I know that the people against whom you are taking action are very powerful, they have been part of the govt & system for years. Even today they are in power in some states, but you (CBI) have to focus on your work, no corrupt person should be spared, he also said.
During the occasion, he will give medals to winners of the President's Police Medal for Outstanding Service and the Gold Medal for Best Investigative Officers of the CBI, according to a statement published by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). PM Modi launched the CBI's diamond jubilee festivities at Vigyan Bhawan. He will also dedicate the CBI's newly built office complexes in Shillong, Pune, and Nagpur. He will issue a postage stamp and a commemorative coin to commemorate the CBI's diamond jubilee year.
The CBI first appeared on Twitter in October of last year, at the Interpol General Assembly, when a handle with the coveted blue tick was introduced to disseminate information about the event. The CBI was created on April 1, 1963, by a decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Earlier, PM Modi flagged off the Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express train from Rani Kamalapati station.
