Caution: Dengue is back in Delhi

New Delhi: Yes! It is that time of the year when the fear of deadly Dengue mosquito becomes the talk of the town and pushes everyone to resort to full length pants and full sleeved shirts. As per a municipal report, at least 28 cases of vector-borne disease have already been reported in Delhi. A total of 15 out of the 28 cases have been reported in the month of June. Last year, a total of 15,867 dengue cases and 60 deaths were reported in the capital, which was considered as the worst scenario in last 20 years. In order to control the deadly disease in extremely hot weather conditions, NDMC last month launched specially-made ‘Dengue-free’ coolers and sought to popularise their use. The coolers have a net placed above their water tank, which keeps mosquitoes from breeding in water and have been designed by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
