'Posts 10 Tweets On Gaza': BJP Hits Out At Rahul, Priyanka For 'Silence' Over Canada Temple Attack

BJP criticised Congress leaders for their silence on recent attacks on Hindu temples in Canada saying they speak up for minorities in India and other issues but ignore violence against Hindus abroad.

Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday slammed Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for not speaking up against the recent attacks on Hindu temples in Canada.

Party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari pointed out that Priyanka Gandhi tweets about Gaza and Rahul Gandhi speaks about minorities in the country but they overlook violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and Canada.

Speaking to ANI, Bhandari said: "It is painful that when all parties have to be united on the issue of national interest, Priyanka Vadra who posts 10 tweets on Gaza, Rahul Gandhi who speaks for minorities in the country go silent when Hindus are attacked in Bangladesh or Canada. This makes it clear that for Indian Opposition, for Congress party Hindu lives don't matter."

He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his prompt response to the incident saying that PM speaks up for Hindus and calls for action when they are under attack.

"From Bangladesh to Canada or anywhere in the country, if Indians face a crisis or the countrymen face an issue, PM Narendra Modi stands with them," he said.

"When Hindus are attacked, whether it is Bangladesh or Canada, PM speaks up for it and expresses concern, he calls for action on it," Bhandari said.

On Sunday, a group of protestors carrying Khalistani flags stormed into a Hindu temple in Canada's Brampton. A day later, more than a thousand Canadian Hindus gathered outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir to protest against the repeated attacks on Hindu temples in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack on Monday saying such acts will never weaken India's resolve.

"I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada," Modi said in a post on X. "Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law," he added.
